Leading thinkers from the Aston Centre for Europe hosted a lively lunchtime debate today on the topic of “Europe, the Eurozone Crisis and the French Presidential Elections” at Europe House, Smith Square, London. With delegates drawn from a wide variety of public sector organisations, government, academia and the policy world, the debate focused on four key aspects of Hollande’s victory: 1) How personalities and leadership matter; 2) the implications of the elections for the management of the eurozone crisis; 3) the implications for the future development of the EU and the UK, and 4) analysis of what the results mean for European business.
